Chocolate button biscuits

  • 150g unsalted butter
  • 300g caster sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 450g self-raising flour
  • coloured chocolate buttons


1 Preheat oven to 180°C. Beat the butter and sugar in the bowl of an electric mixer on high speed until light and creamy. Beat in the eggs and vanilla, then fold in the flour.
2 Spoon the biscuit mixture into 12 mounds and flatten slightly. Decorate with chocolate buttons and bake for 15-18 minutes until golden and crisp. Cool on a wire rack.
